The Space

A deconsecrated 150 year-old church in Sydney’s Kent Street is transformed into a space for the irreverently inclined.

Depending on the night, Unholy is a bar, a performance space, a dancefloor – but it’s always the place where something is happening and everyone belongs - and you leave changed.

A 200 capacity venue built for music, art and culture.

The Bar

Our bar pours Unholy Water, our house gin – distilled in Marrickville at Ester Spirits, alongside natural wines, local craft beer and independent local distillers.

Join us from 5-7pm Wednesday through Saturday for Vespers – our happy hour – $14 house cocktails and $7 beers and wine, including Inner West favourites Doom Juice, Grifter, and new independent queer-owned vodka Tomboy.

$1 of every Unholy Water sold in the bar will be reinvested into artists to create and perform in the venue, via our Artists Grants Program.

Unholy Playhouse acknowledges the Gadigal of the Eora nation as the Traditional Custodians of The lands on which we work and host events. Sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the country, particularly First nations members of the Queer community, and our beloved brotherboys and sistergirls.
